I recently installed a upr o/r x and a bbk cai got it at a deal. I'm not sure I'm going to leave the o/r x on. I have a slp catback and with this setup it is really raspy and loud. It is so loud that I have to short shift to keep from getting unwanted attention, I have been even asked if I had mufflers on the car. I was wondering if I went to a o/r h would it quiet it down and not be as raspy, or should I go with a catted mid pipe whether it is a x or h. I thought about changing the catback to quiet it down. I'm new at this and any help would be appreciated.

an x pipe is known to be raspy. If you go w/an H pipe, you will get a different tone, but the mufflers are what gives you the sound. Just swap to an o/r h pipe and see if that sounds any better before throwing out extra $$ for a new 'cat back' system, too

the x pipe doesn't make a huge difference in the raspiness, it's mostly your catback. i have an SLP catted X and Magnaflows and there isn't any raspiness. the SLP loudmouth is known for being raspy. you may want to switch catbacks instead.
