easy question here which one should i get, anybody know about each's quality. which one will be the better buy, since there is only a few dollars difference. also which mufflers should i order pypes mufflers or flowmasters and do dumps?, or should i do dynomax mufflers and do a side exit set up.

mustangtuning pipe here with flows, couldnt be happier. I think generally speaking, any O/R midpipe in the 140-160 dollar range is gonna be about the same.

Yeah, they are about the same.

I have the UPR with Flows, and it sounds like the world is ending. People love it.

I've got the UPR xpipe with flowmasters dumped. I love the way it sounds and have gotten nothing but compliments.

The two x pipes are made by the same mfg. but with minor differences. The Mustang Tuning X pipe has reinforcement plates welded over and under the X to strengthen the weldment in that area. Also, for the 86-95 cars, the Mustang Tuning X has the air tube. The UPR version doesn't.

Just stay away from the catted pipes that are made by the "cheaper" companies...I know I am not the only one who had problems with cats going bad and heat shields falling off...ohh and when you get a quality product you will notice a huge difference in fitment. I replaced my 5 month old pypes catted x pipe with a 18 month old steeda pipe and it was night and day difference. It was a nice surprise to put the steeda pipe up without any copper gasket maker and have it fit perfectly the FIRST time.

the UPR pipe is on backorder, i tried to order one. the just sent me the 95 kit thinking it would work i guess. then when i call and tell them they sent me the wrong pipe, they told me they would "send a new one out today". so i call back a few days later to ask when it might be here, and he tells me they are on backorder and wont have them for at least 30 days. so i cancelled my order and they said they would have UPS pick the old part up. its been a week and a half and i still have the damn thing on my porch. i guess i get to keep it and sell it, since they already credited my car back the money for it. i ordered one from mustangtuning on saturday night so im hoping to have it soon.

Ouch. The Pypes X IS the Mustang Tuning X. I guess all the members that posted above made a mistake. They just don't know it.

i just put my Mustang Tuning AKA Pypes X-pipe on. it sounds pretty good with them ravin mufflers i had welded in at midas. kinda like flows, but kinda not. its hard to explain. install went well and the pipe fit great. only problem is first time around with the failed UPR install, i broke the pass. side lower manifold stud off, so i have a leak. im going to fix it tomorrow and ill be ready to go. and the car is definitely faster.

Does anyone with the x pipe with cats and flows have any sound clips they could post? I was thinking of getting the mustang tuning x pipe and wanted to see what it would sound like.

No sound clip, but some experience/opinions of UPR catted X... No big difference really. About the same drone at 2K, possibly a little less. More of a thud thud thud sound, less muscle car rumble, no SOTP performance gain, actually feels a bit sluggish (but OK I still have a leak to be fixed, maybe there is some problem with backpressure or something!), and major problem with ground clearance, scraping speed bumbs now and then (OK, so it's lowered 1.5 inches...) Actually thinking of putting back the stock H again...!
