$100 is the most I would pay for aluminum driveshaft like the FMS one that sold for $150. new back in the day. Now something made by Inland Empire Driveshaft or Dynotech would be much better quality and command more $. I would check anything you buy used to see if it is straight and balanced.

I want to measure mine. It doesn't look that tall.

I would steer away from used drive shafts.

new they are now over $250 not $150. Yes I would buy a used one for around $125 or less. It's like any other used part. Inspect it first. If you see any dents or damage, pass.

I did say "back in the day" lol. I remember buying them at that price and having to listen to the Chevy guys cry because they could not get an aluminum driveshaft for anywhere near that price.

Probably not unless weight is a concern. They tend to be better balanced but ... When I bought mine "back in the day" it was as almost the same cost as replacing the U-joints on the stock drive shaft.

The price skyrocketed several years ago. They are definitely worth it if you change gears. The stockers weren't really balanced for anything over 3.55 gears. At least the ones I have run into. They required re-balancing and it was just easier (at the time) to just get the aluminum one. If you are leaving the stock gears then just leave it. Not worth the coin.

Ok then I wont worry about it. I am planning to leave the rear alone if I keep the 2.3. If I upgrade to the 5.0 I will swap out to the 8.8 from whatever donor car I get. Thanks

Nearly everything on these cars shouldn't be used in a 500hp application LOL. Have you seen them twist before?

I'm running an AWD Aerostar driveshaft in my car. Cost me about $120 with new U-joints.

Aluminum and carbon driveshafts are supposed to flex to a certain degree. It takes some of the shock out of the driveline
