Used oil smells like sulphur

I changed the oil in my 05 GT Sunday. The old oil, Motorcraft Synthetic blend, was in the car for 6 months over the winter and only 500 miles of driving, had a strong sulphur smell. Is this normal or should I be concerned?

The oil was very clean looking. The car has 26K miles.
