v-6 to v-8 swap

tips on the swap?......sorry, no help there...but I can tell you to go ahead and do it, ive driven a v6 and v8 in my car and the comparison is non existent, a v8 II is a sweet street car and fun to drive :)

Try and find a cheap doner ll with the 302 already in it. That way you have
all the parts you need, and won't have to try and find them individually.

Good luck with the project. :nice:

You need the 302 Motor mounts, frame mounts, exhaust manifolds, radiator, oil pan, and a tranny to fit it.

I did a 351W in mine, and I say its a little too much work. But I havent been able to mat the gas yet.
Make sure to only go with a small block(289.302. 351) Big blocks can be put in, but Whoa Nellie!!!!

If you read some of our old threads on this, you will find a lot of answers.
about half of us have done the swap in one form or another.
Good luck to you,(as long as you can get the right parts) it's not that hard.

You can use the 6cyl wiring harness with the v8, but you'll have to add some extra wire to run to the distributor in the front of the v8 as opposed to the back of the v6. Also, the tach will need an adapter module in order to read correctly.

Good luck.
