What's the point of starting another inter-Mustang flame war, especially in tech? Jackass.

the reason people do it is because they don't particularly like the look of them, but maybe can't afford a GT, or maybe they just want to be different, to each his own man.

I'd rather see v6's made up to look like GT's than to be all riced out like a civic! But that's just me.

Maybe they don't have the money to afford the gas, insurance, and price of the car!

although this really should be in talk, the same idea goes with guys to take GT's and add cobra bumpers or do a cobra-clone conversion...no one dogs them and they shouldn't because it's their car and their choice. I would like to have a cobra rear bumper on my GT...

Cdog: Does the same apply to LX 5.0's that do a GT conversion?

If i ever went mad and bought a V6 Mustang, i would slap some GT wheels on it and fog lights and stuff. I don't see the big deal.

Now when you start slapping GT or Cobra emblems on a V6, that's where i draw the line

as was mentioned above. my buddy has a 2004 v6 and since insurance would have been outrageous because he was involved in a hydroplaning incident which totalled his last car, he couldnt get the gt like he wanted. Instead he is doing a gt hood, rear bumper, dual exhaust, bulitt wheels and a procharger for the v6. he is 35 yrs old and well on his way to having a unique mustang that will be quicker than alot of mustangs and still cost half as much in insurance. i think that is a smart thing to do until that accident is off of his record, don't you?

Maybe your attitude has gone to your west coast head. No point in starting a flame war w/ other mustang owners and especially in the Tech section.

If it's a V6, but can outperform GT's, then maybe, MAYBE I can see how putting "GT" stuff on it wouldn't be so bad. If they can live up to the name. If it's a stock 16 sec V6 that has "GT" all over it, that's kinda lame. Cuz you know some moron in a Civic will race him, beat him, then tell everybody he beat a GT. So as long as they can back it up, more power to them.

I totally agree....To badge a car something other than it is is just stupid, hell I have a V6 and I want people to know it is a six, The only detail that says other wise is dual exhaust out the back, which keeps people away(rice) till they get a look at the badges on the side then they don't care, its actually kinda funny. I still humiliate them though.
