I have a 1965 V8 stang that started out life as a V6. Apparently one of the previous owners changed out the V6 to a V8. My problem is that I am planning on buying a Front Disc Conversion Brake kit and I notice that most of them bolt onto the stock V8 spindles only. How can I visually tell the difference between V8 and V6 spindles as I'm not sure if the previous owner that did the engine swap changed out the brake spindles as well.

The car currently has manual drum brakes.

Are the wheels secured to the spindle with 4 lugs or 5? If 4 then its is still the I6 suspension (spindles)

The wheels are secured with 5 lugs. So should I assume then that the front disc break conversion kits that say "mounts to original V8 spindles" will fit my spindles fine.

For the price you might as well just go to discbrakeswap.com and get the kit. Comes with brand new spindles, tie rod ends, master cylinder. Everything is high quality and the price is unbeatable. There is no questions at all then.

You probably won't find many kits that come with a power booster. Most power boosters won't fit the 65/66 due to the shock towers.

There are "mini" boosters out there, but I haven't heard much feedback about them.

There are actually quite a few kits out there for 65/66 mustangs with power boosters, and some of the members of this site have successfully installed those kits or power boosters individually on the 65/66 stangs. Below are a few of the kits:

I myself want to get the mpbrakes.com kit.
