I just dropped a KN filter in the stock box, and it is noisy at idle. You can hear a distinct hissing sound all the time inside the car. I looked at a 98GT todAY with a BBK CAI and it was actually quiet???? Why is mine so loud??

You may wanna double check your connections for leaks. You shouldn't hear any air noises until you apply throttle.

You won't hear any hising with the K&N or any other, in the stock box, unless you didn't seal it properly.

Open the box, reseat the filter and clamp the box.

it all started when I put on the Demolet CAI. You could hear a hissing sound from 20 feet away, and very noisy inside the car. I said forget that and put the factory box back on with the KN filter and the silencer! Got the same hissing sound coming from the filter cannister area. What connections could have come off. I have done a few of these before and never had this loud hissing sound????

Thanks for the replies. I will check the box for a bad seal. Lastly, why was the CAI so darn loud at idle. I mean you could hear the hissing sound over the radio and exhaust. My last stang was fine with the CAI. I dont get it??
