Well i went to Autzone cause a buddy works there and he hooked it up. I bought some used(OEM) valve covers for my stang. The car is a 2000 GT, with an 03 engine swap. The engine swap has been verified, so that is not in question. Opened the package and the grommets are different. I got FELPRO VS 50564R they say 281 ENG SOHC VIN "W". now I noticed that the grommets that came in the package are flattened and not coned shaped like the grommets on the mustang valve covers(used) that I bought. Did I get the wrong Gaskets. I have seen some threads where people say that Autozone/Oreillys have the wrong part# for these gaskets, help me out. Did I get the wrong ones, Me thinks this cause of the diff grommets, granted I have not taken off the ones on the car itself, just going by looking at the grommets on the used Valve covers which came of a mustang.

when i got mine from autozone, i bought ones for a 98 gt, which my car is, witha romeo engine, but they gave me ones for a windsor motor, i went back and after looking through all the 4.6 valve cover gaskets i found the right ones, they were for a lincoln town car.

W is 96-98, X is 99-04. I used Fel Pro's on my 01 GT and my 00 GT and they worked fine. Nice blue color. When I sold the car people pointed them out and were happy to see some maintenece done to the car!!

I also had a problem buying the gaskets for my GT. I kept receiving the wrong gaskets though their computers had the information in wrong so it wasn't right to get frustrated at the counter guy :rlaugh:

I had to purchase the covers for a 4v cobra which was a few bucks higher, but it got the car going :nice:
