Valve covers for Explorer intake...

I recall reading somewhere that there are valve cover clearance issues with the Explorer intake, which from looking at the motor last night I can see why. What's everybody with Exp. intakes running for VC's? I've got stock ones from '83 + '86 and also some Weiand finned ones (like the FMS ones).

Mine works OK with the stock 87-93 cast aluminum valve covers. There is minimal clearance, but it does clear.

I have the setup. Only stock versions will fit. I went to tall valve covers and had to put ona spacer. even the vacuum plugs on each end of lower side of the upper intake were closed of and relocated and it still wouldnt fit. Spacer was my only option but the stock form valve covers would remeber it all and save you a ton of headaches and throttle linkage issues later
