Just to make sure I'm not screwing something up:

If I'm not planning on reusing the cam or lifters out of my engine, do I still need to keep track of which pushrod and rocker arm went on which valve, or can I just throw them all in a box? I thought that you were supposed to keep the pushrods and lifters together, but with new lifters going in does it matter?

Come to think of it, if I'm converting to a roller setup, will I even use the same pushrods, or will I need a different length? I hadn't thought about that until now...

Thanks!
Grant

You definately might. Some cams use smaller base circles, which require longer push rods. Some rockers will differ. I think it will be hard to tell until it is all together.

vale train

If your going to the trouble of installing a roller cam and lifters why would you not buy new push rods and roller rockers for a mere $200 more? Doesn't make sense! But to answer your question it is just as important to keep the rocker/valve and push rod/rocker relationship as it is to keep the lifter/push rod relationship. Wouldn't you think?
