I pulled the motor on my lx last night and in the process found that the motor mounts were beyond shot.anybody know the diff between the hatch and vert mounts? i thought i heard something about the vert mounts being better or something.idk, any help would be great.thanks

The 'vert mounts drop your engine in the engine compartment a little bit for hood clearance, better center of gravity.........and from what I've read they were just a better design in general.

If you are going with OEM mounts, they are now the same. The old part number for non-vert Mustangs crosses over to the part number for verts.

Go with the vert ones. They are built much better vs the others. The vert ones are a "captured" design where the metal of the chassis side part is wrapped around the motor side, with rubber in between, while the other styles are just joined by the rubber and can separate, especially the parts store ones. From what I've seen, the 90+ cars all had the vert mounts, but earlier ones had different ones. Also, they are said to lower the motor 1/2-1".

The guy have you covered. :nice: Like Thomas noted, if you ask for mounts for a 93, you should get 'vert' mounts.
