Hey all,

I have a vert with a 2 year old top. Unfortunately the warrenty ran out a year ago. The top itself is in great condition, it's still flexible, no cracking or tears. But the problem is it's white as you can see in my sig, and it's gotten stained and dirty from greasy hands, leaves, and birds that eat black berries.

Question is, think I can just clean it best I can and dye it white again? What happens if the vinyl dye gets on the paint, is it easy to clean off before it dries? I've never used dye so I don't know much about it. I also thought about doing the same thing on the white door panels.

Advice? I know some of you guys have used dye on your interiors. Do the same rules apply on a vinyl top too? Anybody ever used dye on your vert tops?

A Product I have used regularly is westley's bleach white and a nylon brush. Cleans and brightens the white or light color tops. Hope it helps! I am not a big fan of the Dye.

I thought about bleach too, but wouldn't that shorten the life of the top? Maybe I'll just dilute the hell out of it and try it.

This is the first route I think that I would try.

We use a solution of 1:100 bleach:water to clean stuff at work... i wouldn't use full strength bleach, it is pretty harmful... but watered down it might be better.
