I'm about to order an 05 GT vert, however I need to know the options I can still order. My local dealer is saying tan and black tops are the only available colors (no white?), the color dash is out and no other info has been given to me. I really need to know what I can order and since Ford STILL hasn't put the vert up on the Build section of fordvehicles.com I'm hoping someone here with ordering experience can help me out.

I've been looking into Black/Red/Black, Trip Black and Red/Red/Black combos (my last vert was Red/Black/Black), but I really like the Legend Green if a white top is available.

BTW I'm being told a $1000 deposit is required for all orders... does that sound high since I keep seeing people only plucking down $500? Sorry if these sound like noob questions, but I've never ordered a car before, only bought mine as last year's models in late December Of course the 05 is too sweet a ride to just sit on my hands for, and I've been waiting soooo long for the vert to debut so I could replace my GT vert I sold last year.

Parchment and black are the only two colors available for the top.

All other options should still be available.

I have ordered two vehicles from two different dealers and put $1000 deposit on both. Both dealers told me that they would not cash the check, I think it's just so that they know you are serious about actually buying the car. I did not sign any contract to buy until the vehicle came in.

The 05 V6 coupe has not come in yet, still C&U per the "lady."

I put $500.00 down and got the first GT Convertible in NJ. If your ordering Ihighly recommend NOT getting theShaker. Probablt the WORST stereo I ever owned. I WOULD recommend IUP. Demand a DORA from the dealer.

this is acurate. yes. $1000 deposit here also. I have taken a couple $500 deposits from prior customers that i know will take delivery. make sure you get priority 10, a signed buyers order and dora. make sure you will pay stated price at delivery-------no dealer adds.

I put down $1000 refundable deposit on gt vert. It got me a 40 priority and the order was never even entered into the system.

The next dealer ordered the same car w/ no deposit; promised to honor x-plan price; gave me a signed copy of the DORA w/ a 10 priority and the order was "serialized" within a week.

My conclusion: shop around & assume nothing.

Well I just heard back from the dealer, $1000 deposit, sticker only. Guess I'll need to shop around. Quick question: What does DORA stand for and what does a priority 10 get you?

The next tip I'm looking for is how to get a dealer to ok X-plan

I just looked at Ford Vehicles, and the convertible is there now.

As already noted, FordVehicles.com shows the only roof colors are Parchment and Black.

FordVehicles.com does show the IUP as selectable.

Excellent, thanks for the update GT-03.

BTW, I've been off the boards for a while, but what is going on with the IUP package? More than on person emailed me telling me if I wanted a car to not order that package.
