We discovered the point of leaking in the top lift system. I'ts a fitting connection in a line. I suspect this is a return line? Anyway the connection is loose enough it pulls apart without much effort. Can this be repaired by installing new o-ring or other simple method?

I want to measure mine. It doesn't look that tall.

Looks like the line goes into the fitting and is then tightened down. I would take it apart and see if the line broke inside the fitting.

I wonder if it's possible to get a ferrule type fitting at a hardware store and fix it rather than buy a new line set.

Being hydraulic it was most likely a crimp fitting, Try a hydraulic hose place They could fix it?

Yes, I will look closer. Maybe I can trim the line and put it back together. If not I'll try and find a ferrule coupler that fits the line. Something like this.

A new 1/4" line coupler from Home Depot fixed it.

So many of the things that were and are wrong with this car are simple to fix. The collective incompetence of the previous owners amazes me. Of course, that comes from a dufus like me that re used TTY head bolts. Live and learn.
