vert top went bang today

dose anyone konw what hose i messed up, today i was putting the top up when i got home( yes i was riding topless today, i am in fl lol) and when i put the top up i head a big bang and then all this ****ing fluid shot all in my car all over the nice white leather ( pissed me off) dose anyone have any idea what hose i messed up, it has to be a hose for the fluid, now the top will not work but the fluid wil blwo out when i push the botton

if you pull the forward-most carpet out of the trunk (the carpet under the folded top), you will see the pump. i would trace the high pressure line and find where it burst. IIRC, it takes ATF (dont take my word for it - check with a manual or someone else).

I have a vert also (with white leather)and that would suck big time having all that fliud on your beautiful white leather int. Sorry that i can't help you but its a good heads up cause now i will put some form of a cover over the motor to protect my leather.Would you know if the roof can be raised manaully ??

yep, if one disconnects the linkage on the arm, the top can be manual (there are other ways to make it manual too).

Sounds like you either blew the pump or a cylinder. I hope it's not a cylinder for your sake, because they are a PIA to replace. Pump on the other hand is easy replace.

pump fluid

pump takes atf(dextron 3)had to replace the pump on a 90 sunbird gt vert i had,owners manual stated that and a buddy at G M told me the same!

P.S. you can also use hydraulic fluid you usr foor floor jacks
