Vibration around 1400 rpms

With all the defective parts from ebay stories ive heard recently, im starting to think people that work at these plants where these parts are made are pulling/paying for the defect parts for pennies and pawning them off on ebay.

Centerforce is a good brand generally expensive brand but none the less good quality. I hope that's not true and this was just a fluke about the defective parts.

Vibration gone!! thank god! got to work on it about 9am this morning and finished up about an hour ago, everything is great, except now I can't turn my traction control off, I must of not hooked seomething back up the light on the console doesn't even light, so anyone know which wires are used for the traction control on the tranny? I was just so freakin tired I decided to leave it for now.

anyway i'm gonna sleep real good tonight I'll post up some pictures tomorrow.

the traction control is not related to the tranny at all, there is no wirring for the abs/traction conrol system near the tranny. Maybe it got unpluged somehow when you removed the shifter for tranny removal.

ahh I saw 2 connectors on the tranny that I had to disconnect when we pulled it I assumed one of them had something to do with the traction control. I did unplug the switch when I removed the shifter but I know I also plugged it back in, I guess I'll have to fiddle around with it find out what's the deal.

okay I found it, i plugged the cig lighter & abs switch back in but forgot to plug the main harness that's right there, everythings is good now.

I did send an email to the company I purcahsed the defective flywheel to but I bought it last nov. so I doubt it'll do any good, just curious to see what they have to say.

You could have saved yourself a big headache by using the "packing full of grease" method instead of the slide hammer. Slide hammers are a PITA.

really? I didn't have any problem with it at all, the center came out with 2 big hits, and the outer part came out in 3 hits, didn't really take any effort at all, could of been that it's only like 6 mos old tho.

Im not that lucky. Plus the slide hammers Ive rented could only fit one hook in the bearing (that made it even more interesting).

sigh....well I have a new vibration heh, the vibration at a particular rpms is gone but now I have a new vibration I started to notice this one recently though this vibration happens around 50-55mph doesn't seem to have to do anything with any particular rpms 50-55 is about 1500-2k rpms I think anywhere under that I donn't feel the vibration, it starts to smooth out as I go faster but still has a hint of it. I recently bought new tires and had them balanced and mounted and I suspect maybe the balancing is off on it.

probably the driveshaft. unbolt it, turn it 180 deg and bolt it back up.

what I did was throw the rear of the car up on jack stands and then I took it up to 55-60 mph and there's NO vibration, so I assume if it were the driveshaft even with it on the jackstands I should of felt the vibrations right?

I notice when i'm at that speeds (where it vibrates worse) and if I need to turn the steering wheel slightly to switch lanes the vibration gets worse, I have a feeling it's something up front. I don't think it's the tires because I had them rebalanced and I also rotated them and the vibration feels the same. I don't think it's engine related because I can push in the clutch and cruise in nuetural and still feel it.

no it's not rpm related, I only get it at 50-55 mph while moving doesn't matter if I'm in gear or in nuetural.

finally fixed that vibration.....

Right before I replaced the flywheel, my front brakes needed to be replaced one of the pads scored my rotor and pepboys wouldn't cut the rotor because they said it was under spec. I bought a cheap rotor to hold me over until I did my next brake change which then I would replace all 4 because I needed my car being a daily driver.

Finally bought 4 new brembo rotors and new hawk hps pads ever since I change out the rotors the vibration at 55 is gone.

One of a few things, check these. Bad tire (i.e. broken belts in tire) or bent/out of balance rim/wheel. Very simple, simple fix. A warped rotor with low pads, or even with new pads it can cause this. I would question the tire shop about it, they'll usually have no problem re-balancing or mounting a new tire if they must.

Edit: Heh, ok you got it. I hope that you're done with all your vibrations issues, I know what it's like, my '83 Capri, when I used it as a DD, always had vibration issues, for the entire time I owned it, about 90k miles. Now it's a 10 second drag car, very simple setup, N/A 390 Cub engine that I bought from a guy that likes to compete in those truck pulls. He was building the eng. for a F250 to compete with, I got it for 3500 cause he got sued for something and I lucked waayyy out, it was a 8-10k eng. Built C4 auto, basic drag suspension and wheels/tires. Yay! Anyways GL with ur car.
