Just a recap, after doing the AOD-E to T5 swap, there were vibrations over 2000 rpms. Even just revving the car in neutral at a stand still.

I took it to shop because I don't have time to work on it anymore. They took down the T5 and started the car and there were still vibrations. Then they removed the pressure plate and clutch disc and started the engine again. There was no more vibration. It seems that the pressure plate is out of balance.

So has anyone ever had a misbalanced pressure plate? The transmission shop told me that from time to time even new parts aren't balanced correctly.

I have a King Cobra clutch by the way, I bought it brand new from D&D.

Gets worse the higher the rpms are, it's not nearly as bad as a bad balancer. But it's bad enough that I knew to back off the throttle.

You may have covered this but, is it in the shift handle or you feel the whole car shaking? Mine vibes too, but nothing that worries me too much. You could go romp the chit out of it for a while, see if something lets go, but that could get expensive quick....(that's what I did when I swapped mine, still nothing broke) I would borrow some stuff off of a buddies car, driveshaft, wheels, stuff like that. Lot of work, but if you got that option, may keep you from chasing the wrong demons...good luck man, it'll work out

Well considering it happens at a standstill with the clutch disengaged it can't be the driveshaft or transmission. It's something with the clutch. I know these vibrations aren't good and it gets pretty bad at 3000 rpms. It's not supposed to be like this.

Cost me under $1600 with everything including some new bolts and parts because the old ones were rusted.

I've seen your threads about this issue and its a shame you've had to go through all of this stuff but at least you've now found the prob.

Can you get the place you got the clutch from to give you any help with a replacement clutch?

Yeah we figured out it's a bad pressure plate. I'm going to triple check it by going to a machine shop on monday and then I'll either get it balanced or exchange it at D&D.
