Vin Plate??

I just rec'd my vin plate from Marti Auto. The rivets come with it but no instructions. It looks like you would hit them in the center with a punch. I was wondering if you use a pointed punch or a flat punch???? RAY

If it is like my '68 door tag, you align the plate, insert the rivet in the hole and drive it in with a pointed punch. Don't hit it too hard, the alumnum bends easy. Also, try not to hit it so hard the punch bottoms out on the edges of the rivet, leaving marks on it.

what was the cost and timing on your door tags??

The door tag was $20 and the rivets are $1.50 each. I think it took right at three weeks from the day I phoned in the order. The quality is great.
