Been a member of this forum for a few years now. With the car seen being quarantined in most places I just wondered if we could do a virtual car show here. Set a date and time frame to post videos of our cars with walk arounds. Could figure out some way to do a CT title for a prize or some other thing....like Stangnet merch. or gift cards...something. Category ideas. Maybe chip in to an administrator for actual trophies...or something. Even a certificate download sent to the top picks inboxes. It would be cool ( I think )

I'm suffering with car show withdrawal syndrome. I'm sure I wouldn't win any prizes but it would be fun.

Who would be on board ??? Can we even do it ???

It would be cool to see a video based walkaround, or something different. Create a vid, upload it to youtube, and then on a specific weekend or such post the video so we can browse through and watch.

I'd be down for it, even though the car is in a million pieces.

Why not?!
Were you thinking of posting an overall show as well as the different generations?

Car show thread in each section to upload your vid (to categorize it). Then you could just open the one you want to see.... Foxbody, Classic, etc. Just thinking out loud here.

I somewhat agree. Was thinking of an idea of maybe linking the individual threads from each category into one post which includes them all somewhere on the homepage.

It could go any number of ways though....

My car is no trophy getter...but I'm down. Someone with more access would have to direct this thing though. A walk around and maybe a burnout. I think it would be a great fun way for us to showcase our rides. Do we have a youtube channel for Stangnet ?...haven't looked yet.

Either way uploading to youtube and posting a link is easy here.

We've seen tons of pictures....but not too many video walks.

No youtube channel, but there is an Instagram page. I happen to run it, but have been looking to put member content on the page. Now sure how I would translate a youtube video though into it, but I was thinking of featuring member's cars with a few words....sort of like how Maximum Motorsports does it.

I agree that there are tons of pics, but a video would be different to see on everyone's cars. I understand it's a big to-do to make a good video and upload it to youtube, so doing a special car-show event might justify the effort.

@Noobz347 any thought?

Sounds pretty cool !
I would be in to it but at my age figuring out how to upload a video to Youtube will be a challange lol.
Guess I'll have to ask one of my kids.

I’m definitely into it as well. But like Steel1 said, I’m definitely also questioning my ability to upload a vid to YouTube. Lol. Though it sounds really cool if we were able to pull it off.

Nice! I just joined Instagram to follow a friends beer making venture, and the Mets, now that I’m on. Following Stangnet now too!

Additionally if enough people are interested, I could create a stang net Instagram page. Where we post pics of everyone’s cars and we can do feature articles and all that to bring more traffic to the site

Apparently my ex-husband made that mistake.

There already is one. I just haven’t had the opportunity to run it the way it should be run. Really wanted to feature member rides on it with 3-4 pics and a quick bio.

Although no video, it seems like this is our “virtual car show” waiting to happen?
To save Mike some work, is there a way to let members post a certain amount of pics (front, rear, side, motor) to this Instagram page? (Brand new to Instagram so no idea how it works)
