Vortec VS Kenne Bell ???

With the KB you can't run as much boost without doing some extra steps. I think anything above 7lbs and your supposed to get an intercooler or like water/meth injection.

On the otherhand your going to get full boost out of a KB at really low rpms as with a vortech you climb somewhat gradually. This is kinda nice on gas milage though, Because you can drive it around normally and then when you put your foot into it will be there.

IF i could do it all over again i would probably go with a KB because of the simple fact that it looks cool and everybody has a vortech.

Oh and i think with a KB your going to have a lot more traction problems then with a Vortech.

id love to strap a kenne bell onto a 96-01 cobra, that way your not lacking the low end.

it seems to me that the 5.0 needs help on top end while the 4.6 needs low end especially the DOHC.

so a rule of thumb is cen. on a 5.0, KB on a 4.6.

not a hard and fast rule but thats they way it goes the way ive seen it.

id out a KB on a stockish 5.0 tho.

BIG BLOCK FEEL BABY!!!

what about procharger? i hear there superchargers are awesome!

when the head units arent leaking.....actually I shouldent say that b/c the have " apparently" fixed them but I have still read threads on them leaking on 4.6's

Id go with the KB. In the Mustangs Monthy mag this month, there is a KB 347 sn95 in there. I think its pumping out somewhere in the 530-540 range with eqaul tq. It doesn't get anymore like a bigblock than that. Id be putting my 2.73's back in with that kind of power.

The KB will reach full boost at a much lower rpm, meaning more power down low.
The Vortec takes rpms to reach bull boost, meaning more power in the upper rpm.
One the street, if you can get traction the KB will most likely win. On the track the Vortec will most likely win. This is a generalzation.

hov much low end do you really need? screw type blowers are kind of pointless on a 5.0, you'll never hook up without some serious suspension. i'd do a centrifugal blower, vortech or paxton are my personaly faves.

I dont understand why everyone says the cent's give so much more top end. Its not like a screw type isnt making boost at high RPMS. I dunno if u guys have seen any of these 03 cobras with kenne bell vids, but they make 15+psi all the way to 6,500rpm.
