I'm looking for some feedback.....

V1 T-trim

vs.

V2/V3 Si-Trim

They will NOT be intercooled (for the time being). Vortech has assured me that the efficiency of their SI and T trims is so high that an intercooler is not necessary as long as boost levels are kept relatively low (which is what I am planning to do).

Honestly, it doesn't matter whether or not the headunit is self-contained. The majority of the kits I am looking at are using the Si-trim impeller while using either the V2 or V3 headunits. I just recently came across a V1 T-trim kit for the 02-04 GT. I LOVE the noisyness of the V1 and the efficiency of the T-trim. Fully detuned non-intercooled T-trim 2V GT's @ 8psi are putting down around 400rwhp....and that's being very detuned for safety.

Im looking for any input regarding the pros and cons of each setup. Thanks :nice:

Yeah, I've thought about it a bit more. Intercooled or nothing.

Yeah especially being in Texas and a dd. good luck bro just keep in mind added expenses as well as the likelihood of pieces breaking sooner. I'd love to have a boosted car but my income won't let me at the moment. Just be sure you can cover things if you break em.

+1 For being intercooled. Once you have a blower you will get addicted to the extra power your car makes but it sucks when you can feel how much doggier it gets in the hot summer months. But one thing I would like to say is if you are going the non self contained way spend some time and a little extra money and properly weld in a bung to your oil pan. I did and now have threaded AN hose for my oil drain. Prior to that it was a barb fitting on each side (at pan and at supercharger) and it leaked! If you are meticulous and care about the reliability and longevity of your car it is worth it. As for a T trim on 8psi I would be hesitant. The gains from a T trim to S trim are really only visible with increased boost (at least over 10psi) from what I understand.

I have a question. I have a 98 cobra with a vortech supercharger on it. When I take it up to about 6000 rpm and push in the clutch and just cost I can hear the supercharger still spinning really fast. Is that normal to hear or should it be quiet?

Are you sure you are hearing the supercharger? When I switched to an intercooler and a blow through MAF I can here the BOV releasing a ton of air as the valve flutters open and closed if I am coasting down from high rpm coming out of boost. What kind of noise is it?

Well I don't have a BOV on it and i think it's the supercharger cause it just sounds like it's spinning really really fast. And I would think for something that sometimes spins at 45000 rpm it would be quiet. It almost sounds like something is rubbing on something else but it's not super loud

V1...the V1 has a higher RPM limit than the V2. Therefore you can spin it faster and make more boost.
