Just finished off my vortech install and Iam now my idle is very iratic and iam getting cel code p0113 my manual tells me that IAT sensor ciruit indicates high input? would the IAT alone cause my idle issue or due i have something else wrong? also while i was on it during my test drive my AFR would stick at 10 and the car would want to die. is this all IAT related?

your IAT tells the computer the temperature of the air going into the motor. It should be placed AFTER the supercharger and before the throttle body. If your running a Vortech Aftercooler it should be between that and the throttle body. From the sounds of it though, it looks like your wiring to the sensor is screwed up or you have a bad sensor. You cut the two outside wires from the MAF and wired them to the IAT correct?

yes i cut the two outside wires but i think the connection to the sensor is weak since i did not have a pigtail to put on the sensor. I think iam gona test it tomorrow and most deffinetly buy a pigtail from my stealership. and I did place the IAT in the charge pipe about 5inches away from the throtle bodie.

I have the same p0113 code but my car is N/A. I am new to the 4.6 motor and do not know how to fix the problem. I am not trying to hi-jack your thread I am just trying to figure out what is going on.

according to my hayens manual you need to first turn the key to the on position (dont start the car) and check the voltage on the IAT connector, it should be about 5 volts. reconnect the the sensor then start the car and let it run for about 10min then shut it off. disconnect the sensor again and check the resistance of the sensor it have low ristance when it hot and high resistance when its cold.

check to make sure that all hoses are connected. specifically the one from the bypass valve to before the blower.

P0113 code means that the IAT sensor signal is greater than self test maximum. The maximum voltage for IAT is 4.6V or -56 degrees, normal voltage range is 1.7 to 3.5V.
Could be a bad sensor, open in wiring harness,or bad PCM. Do u have a way to look at pid data? If so see what the voltage is at koeo you will most likely see reference voltage or very close to it,then disconnect sensor and jumper the 2 wires in the connector together if it drops to 0.2 volts the u have a bad sensor,if not then u have an open ckt in wiring or bad PCM. If u have normal voltage koeo then check it with the engine running if it is going high then look into what CTGrey02 said about the sensor location.

I ended up putting the stock maf on for now. I am pretty sure that the sensor is bad because i was getting the proper voltage at the wires i splived of the maf connector. and once i installed the stock maf i started getting IAT readings again so its deffinetly not the pcm.
