I have bought a vortech sq kit from summit racing and due to work I have no time to install it myself and would probably take a long time if I tried. But anyways what is the average cost for a professional to install it for me. Amazon tuning is about 15 minutes from me I dont know if some of you know them but thats who most likely will be installing it for me. Should it be over 500.00 to just install the blower? Thanks for the help....Chris.

find a fellow stanger that lives nearby and offer him a few beers and im sure he would help ya with installation. or offer to pay them to do it (im sure it would be cheaper then waht a shop would charge

I will ask them, but I just thought of the idea to let someone install it for me and there closed at this time of night. I was just wondering if someone had a ball park of a cost to determine if I even want to call. Because if its too high Ill just have to find time for myself to do it and I have never installed a blower before so thats going to kill time. The one thing that turns me away from doing it myself is the part where I have to Tap the oil pan and try not to get any shavings in the oil pan.

The install doesn't look to be very hard... just time consuming... I can tell you more about it in a couple months. 
I plan on daily driving my '72 while I take my time and install the Vortech, do tuning etc on the '95. Less rush == job well done and this is a job you want done right.
The hardest part for me thus far is rounding up all the misc things like the tap and punches.

I installed my blower in around 10 hours...
It was the FIRST real mod I've ever done myself and I can say its actually very simple.
Also, do not fear the oil pan tap. It actually turned out to be the easiest part of the install for me (and you can always buy magnetic oil pan plugs to make yourself feel more comfortable about it).

Figure if it takes them 8 hours @ $75 per hour, that's $600 right there. Some shops will have a dollar amount for things like this, others will charge a bood rate.
do it yourself. don't waste the money on an install, use that towards the required tune after. i agree with ponypower, the oil pan is the hardest part IMO. if you take your time and run a quart or two through the system before you even start it you should be fine. get a magnetic plug. Think of it this way, if it was something only pros could do vortech would probably come up with some better way of doing it.
I guess that Ill give it a shot because I called amazon tuning and they wanted around 600.00 to install it and that was a ball park range. Also curious what kind of HP/TQ to the wheels are you guys seeing on a bonestock motor right down the the stock intake. Most everyone I see has at least an intake but I am wanting to see what I can do with completely stock motor and vortech kit @8lbs.

In my searches I've seen around 310ish HP at the wheels on the stick cars - a bit lower through the autos.
