vortech intake tube???

the vortech intake pipe from the blower to the throttlebody has a very poor fit. its a sq trim. i have a trick flow street heat and a bbk 75mm tb and the pipe from the sc is horrible. its not angled correctly adn continues to pop off. is there any kind of aftermarket tube i can buy?

I went with a Fox throttle body and a custom "discharge" tube. worked great for me, I didn't even want to deal with that stupid little plastic piece!

i've never seen an aftermarket one before. PM gmkilr, i think he had one made but no clue where. make sure you have the right couplers. mine is in there so tight i have a hard time just getting it off when i want too. the couplers are so long that i can barely pry the tube out between them.

The blower might need to be slightly reclocked. It should fit extremely tight as ProKiller states.

If Vortech wasn't so cheap, they would have come up with a better discharge housing design that would allow for a better discharge tube. But as it is, they just pull the Fox style head unit off the shelf and "jerry-rig" it to work with the SN95's.

If the outlet was facing, say, toward the passenger side fender apron instead of rearward, a better discharge pipe that was easier to work with could have been designed.

Oh well, Vortech is still IMHO the best centri. S/C for pushrod motors!
