This problem has been going on for quite some time, so i'd figure i'd do something about it and stop being lazy. Over 2 years ago my CEL came on and it turned out to be the VSS p500 code. So i replaced the sensor with a Motorcraft and the speedo gear with a white one from Steeda due to me having 3.73's. For a little while the speedo started to work again and the CEL went away. Shortly there after the CEL came back on and the speedo stopped working. Didn't feel like investigating and i stopped caring. It's been on long enough lol.
