on my way to my gf's house after work i turn up a street when i hear a boom, i thought something got caught underneath, went to check and seen my o\passenger front control arm lyin on top of my rim, i thought **** ball joint f'in snap. I was unfortunatley stuck very close to a bad part of the intersection so i had to move my car 1/4 of a mile up leaving shavings all over the street. call a tow truck told me 45 mins, hour later called told me hour, hour and 1/2 later told me 30 min etc i waited from 8 to 1230, until a cop came told him about my wait and he called the tow company and siad they were on a contract where city calls where a first priorityh and had to wait for a few more hours, cop told me he would get behind me and stick behind me with his flashers on so i could take my time. i didnt see any other choice so i drove the car bout a 100 yards and parked it, sounded horrible the whole way there. i just hope i didnt do any more damage. only reason why i didnt call the tow company was because i had triple A and wasnt paying for it so now i still have to get my car tommorrow...:bang:

That stinks. My stang died in the middle of semi-busy intersection on a Sunday morning in rural VA. Fuel pump went. Called AAA. Try getting a tow truck on Sun morning in rural VA!!!
Of course, a state trooper came and said that I had to get it out of the intersection. I told him that I called AAA and that it would probably be awhile since it was Sunday morning. He just laughed and offered to help push it in to the nearby parking lot. So the 2 of us pushed it by hand in to the lot. I figuired that he was just going to use the push bar on his cruiser but he said that he did not want to damage the car. Real nice guy. They must be nicer out in the sticks.
Anyway, 2 hours later the tow truck shows up. Of course there are no repair shops in the area open on Sunday except for a truck stop......
Tow truck driver reccomended either the Ford dealer or a local shop that would be open on Mon. Had him take it to the local shop who quickly put a new fuel pump in it Mon AM.

i live in rural VA !! Roanoke area . Anyways one night at a cruise night my fuel pump went out . My brother and I went back to my dads garage pulled one out of my 88 and drove back to where my car was broke down at and replace the fuel pump on the side of the road . Took about 4 hours including the hour drive ( round trip) fun times broke down about 8 and was back cruising by midnight .

problem found, the lip of the joint cracked so the ball had popped out, whole back of the rim is shredded along with the control arm, but still in ok driving conditon now. finished up with replacing the balljoint at 445 in the morning, then went to work at 730. I didnt even use a balljoint remover/ install press. just my 2 jaw gear puller and my imagination lol.
