Interesting. I kinda like 'em. Is it turbocharged as well?

Yes, this year was rated at 190hp and i believe 240tq. You can put 1k into these engines and make 300rwh easy. It's a fun daily driver for sure.

How about Ford Contour rims in gunmetal? The photoshop work sucks, i couldn't find that style of rim in the right angle but i think it gives you an idea. I think they'll look sweet.

SVT focus rims! They take some minor mods, but have the right bolt pattern and look absolutely sick on my XR.

Well i recently found that the last body style Cougar had 4 lug 16's...with some spacers they'll mount right up. I think this is the wheel for me. They come in silver/machined/polished but i'm gonna get a set and powdercoat them bronze.

I would powdercoat the bbs style a dark bronze in the middle and polish the lip if possible.

Well guys thanks for the suggestions but i scored a set of the Saleen Enkei/Riken/ARE basket weaves for it today. They're the 15s which is good because they'll fit nice on the car and i can run a nice fat tire without rubbing. Pics to follow as soon as i clean them up. They've got about 20 coats of crap paint and 2 are black and 2 are white. I'm probably taking the safe route and painting them gloss black since i can't find a bronze colored spray that i like.

They had a 6 spoke that is similar to some of the Topez wheels in style but were 16 inches.

This was a test fit for the rears, but the tires are shot and they're getting stripped and repainted.

No curb rash though so once they're painted and polished they'll look sweet.

Got one of them pretty much stripped on the surface...but i'm not sure how i'm going to get the inside of the spokes clean. The powder coat that's on them from the factory is super tough and i'm having to scrape it off with a plastic putty knife to keep from scratching the finish but it won't fit into the spokes.

I can't wait to just get one of them done so i can polish the lip and see how they're going to look.

This is actually the car that gave birth to the SVO. The engine is the same and the inspiration of the wing came from it as well. That's about it though, as the Merkurs have an IRS rear end and aren't anything close to the Fox platform.

completely wrong, the xr4ti was from 85-89 the svo was from 84-86 and some were actually made early 83' (mine was, I have the build sheet) most of the influence on the svo, was to beat the bmw 318, so they put the turbocoupe engine in it with an intercooler, so it would have a very good balance (better than the 5.0's) and also have a little punch to it...

Dude....the XR4Ti's came from Europe where Cosworths have been around as long as the Mustang has. I don't recall the guy's name but i read in one of those Mustang history books that the head of SVO or whatever took a trip to Europe and was so impressed with the cars over there that he came back and built the SVO. They don't share the same DNA or lineage but you can bet both the SVO and Merkur being here were because of the Cosworths, namely the Sierra Cosworths which is where the XR4Ti came from.
