Hey guys,
I want to put a 351c back into my Mustang, thats what it came from the factory with. Its only got a 302 right now...Anyways, it would be my first motor buildup, and I think I can handle it, v8's are farely easy...So my question is this, where do I get the parts? I want to go used, and cheap where possible. I've tried a few local junkyards, they have nothing. I assume thats probably my best bet though. Also, what kind of HP does your basic 351c have? I'd like to spend about 1500 dollars if possible. And how do I tell if the transmission thats in it now will bolt up to a 351? All I can tell you is its an automatic, but once again, it was swapped in somewhere along the line, because there is still parts of clutch linkage on the frame, and the clutch pedal was welded to the firewall at one point. Thanks

Its very hard to buy performance parts for a 351c. Not many produced. I dont even think Edelbrock makes heads for that engine. Unless your restoring the car to stock specs go with another engine.

Really? I would think they have a big aftermarket. I'm attracted to the semi "big block" that the 351w cant offer. I'm not talking serious buildup either, just get a block, possibly bore it out, new pistons, crank, a mild street cam, ported heads, intake and 4bbl carb. worth it?

Edelbrock is bringing heads out for that motor if you go search their site, there's plenty of C fans here in the forum and there may even be a few that have blocks lying around. 1500 bucks will get you a decent rebuild for sure , new 1 piece valves (improtant if using stock heads they tend to break off near the keeper and drop the valve into the combustion chamber)springs cam lifters etc. etc. with some cash left over. There are plenty of performance parts out there for C's if you do a bit of research. :nice:
