i want to lower my car....but i want handling gains.....

1 inch in the rear
and maybe 1.5 in the front

go ahead and get yourself some bbk performance springs, they drop our car perfectly 1.5 inches in the front and rear, and you do not lose, i repeat do not lose your stock ride while gaining much better handling. cheaper than most brands too

If you want only a 1-1.5 inch drop then go with either eibach i think it is the pro kit, but maybe the sport lines. The second one is the steeda sport springs. They are both supposed to be really good for handling.

There was an article in 5.0 Mustang magazine where they dropped an 01 GT. They used Progress lowering springs and Tokico shocks. The article brought out that it was best to change springs and shocks to do it the right way, and they didn't sacrifice the ride quality. From the pictures it looked as if the mustang dropped about 1"-1.5". I'm planning to do the same thing with mine once I get some cash. Let us know what you go with and how you like them. :nice:

If you are looking at Eibach, save yourself some cash and buy FRPP "C" springs. They are manufactured by Eibach and sold under the FRPP name. They can be had for as little as $109 and will drop your car about 1.25" like the ProKit. The spring rates are slightly different from the Eibach, but many people on here have them and like them. I don't think you can beat that price either. A good budget combo would be the C-springs and a set of Mach I shocks/struts from http://www.fordpartsnetwork.com

ok

I went with steeda lowering springs.. and lakewood 70/30 struts up front to keep my weight transfer good.. I like it a lot.. best of everything launching and handling..

Im also lookin to drop about a 1.5" too. I was planning on the Eibach pro kit but what shocks? Im just looking to maybe barely improve handling but keep the ride the same, although better launches would be nice!

my 2 cents

I had an 01 gt (it was totaled) and it had the eibach pro kit springs. They dropped the car about 1 1/4". They were fine, but IMO, the car still had that "4 wheel drive" look. My current car (96 gt) has maxspeed springs (2" drop - exactly like the sportlines but 1/2 the price) and I think it is much better. I am very happy with them. The car doesn't lean NEARLY as much as it did around turns, but it can bottom out on on the bigger bumps. I'm sure biltsteins all around will solve that, but I didn't have the $$$ for them so I put in some OEM style shocks and left the struts alone for now. I'll drop in biltsteins when the finances allow.

I second this?? Anyone offer their 2 cents on this?

The Bullitt kit is a good kit for the price, but will not lower the car 1.5" in fr. and 1.0" in the rear - especially on the new edge style stangs (assuming you use the spring isolators). I would look at Steeda's or H&Rs for quality springs that will get you the drop you want and offer a decent ride.
