Want to relocate alt!!!

Well i'm attempting to get more things done i have my upper and lower intake being filled and upper rotated.
I know i'm going to run into an issue with the alternator. I was wondering if i can relocate it where the a/c pump is and what is involved to get this to work??
Apprecciate any info you can give me thanks!!!!

yes, go get the engine brackets from any 93-94 2.3 ranger.... than cut the section off where the a/c bolts too (cause that is where your alterntor currently is already) the alternator side bracket will put the alternator right where your a/c compressor is currently.... Here is a pic of the ranger brackets on a 2.3 turbo with the a/c compressor mount cut off, you can see where he cut on the right, it's the shiny part

cut and paste this link into your address bar to make it work

see the alternator on your left side, and the power steering pump is in the exact same spot, now you have a perfectly clear shot, and then some, to your intercooler.....

Good luck to ya, hope I helped.....

oh yeah, and those brackets bolt right up for the most part to your current block.... the alternator side bolts right on, the power steering pump side requires you to take two little chunks out of the right side, that will take out two bolt holes and clear the distributor and lower intake manifold.... You will still have 3 bolts holding it on.... Thats how I have it on my turbo motor....

so you need all the brackets to do the swap??. i cant just get the alt bracket off a ranger and swap it like that or do i need all of them so that the belts will work. is that why?? and you can only get them off of a 93-94 ranger?? only thme two rangers have it??

before 93 they had the accessories in the same place as the mustang.... 93 and 94 had the accessories in the new postion and still bolted to the stock mustang dual plug head.... after 95 the bracket mounting positions changed in the head and 95+ brackets wont work.... thats why when you turboswap a ranger, you have to specifically find 93 or 94 ranger brackets only.... and the a/c part is REALLY easy to cut off, a couple minutes with a sawzaw takes it right off....

and actually after rereading your post, you would be best off just keeping your stock power steering side bracket as the ranger one does require some modification, just use the alternator side which bolts right on, and will put the alternator there.... in short just bolt the alternator bracket to the side of the mustang motor and mount it.... YOU WILL NEED A DIFFERENT ALTERNATOR, THEY DO NOT BOLT UP THE SAME !! Dont forget, when you do change these brackets, you will now need the ranger crank pully, waterpump pully and serpentine belt if you want to drive the alternator....

Alternator bracket, but now I'm thinking you'll want to keep the stock mustang dual waterpump pully, because the ranger one sits out a little bit and will use the outside pully that the a/c used to use.... Use your stock crank pully around the power steering pump to the inside of the mustang waterpump pully, and on the outside one use a mustang air conditioning belt for the alternator, the tensioner should take up the slack difference in the different pully sizes....

so all i need its the alt. bracket then. and where would i get belts for this?? i have the stock A/c belt still. but where do i get the other belt from??

heres my set up now.

for the most part, i'm not sure if it will run off of one serpentine belt or not.... If you all the pullies line up than you can use the ranger tensioner which is actually under the alternator.... I just saw your post on rangerpowersports.com beleive me you will get nothing..... I had to look for almost 2 months straight to find my brackets tha tI just found.... For the belt they will both be trial and error at a parts store, tell them your custom predicament, and park in the parking lot, usually somoene cool there will let you try a bunch of them and when you find the right one just write down the number for reference if you ever need one again.... I WILL keep an eye out locally here in the junkyards for you since I'm frequently there....
