I have an 02 GT 5 spd. I have all the usual bolt ons (headers, x-pipe, catback, pulleys, CAI, intake elbow, TB, shifter) In the future I want to do heads and cams.
What I wanted to do is get a wideband air-fuel gauge (digital) mounted in the car and tune my car myself. I know PRO-M makes devices to control the MAF to control air/fuel and Steeda makes timing adjusters. Does this sound like a good way to tune? My main concerns are A/F being OK and bumping timing. Is a chip really nessesary? I was also looking into hand-tuners. I really like the SCT. If I got this instead, would I need the TA and A/f adjuster? Which is the better route to go? (chip / hand-tuner or separate devices like TA's and such) I just like having the ability to adjust everything on my car myself.
Does anyone know if there is other reasonably priced tuning software for laptops that can be used by end users.
I just ned some input! Thanks
