warranty void?

i called ford's warrenty number and asked this. they told me it will if it can be traced it as the cause of the engine damage. i asked specifically about cat back. if you replace from the cats forward it will unless you the parts from ford or have the do it or find out what parts they sell and get them somwhere else. or you can pull the factoryexaust and keep the factory parts to reinstall for warrenty work.

ehh.. I went to ford for the 3k miles checkup a tad while ago before I got my exhaust on. I asked the tech rep and he said that the emission warranty may/will be void but the bumper to bumper warranty will not void with the bolts-on mod (exhaust, cai, pulley) unless you're messing inside the engine (cams, valve, etc). I guess it kind of depends on the dealer. But I have a feeling that if I bring my car in for warranty work, they would kindly declined.. as many said before, they will try to link the impossible to the problem and void the warranty even if that aftermarket part is not the problem at all. Hope this helps

this is what I came up with on the kenne bell web site.
Does the supercharger void my new vehicle warranty? No. It is against Federal Law for a Dealer to refuse a warranty claim because an aftermarket product has been installed on your vehicle. If a warranty is denied, contact the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) at (202) 260-2080 or www.epa.gov or the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) at (202) 326-3128 or www.ftc.gov. Additional information is available at the SEMA (Specialty Equipment Manufacturers Association) website www.sema.org. Kenne Bell is a member of SEMA

I'll just say what my Ford dealer told me. 1. My exhaust voids some of my warranty 2. Another chunk is voided by my intake 3. Whatever's left is voided by my chip. :bs: Basically, a warranty is just a false sense of security. A dealer never wants to have to do warranty work, and I swear sometimes I think that they'd void the warranty on my transmission because I have my windows tinted. If you've driven your car at all, chances are, you've voided the warranty.

as long as the parts that you put on the car carry a carb # on them they have to cover the repairs unless they can PROVE not just say that the parts caused the problem. the only items that they dont by law have to fix are usable items such as clutch, tires, brakes. they dont want to do it under warrenty because it doesent pay, if its broken most likley you will pay to fix it which is far more profitable to them. its just like poker sometimes you gotta do is bluff with a good poker face. and all we as consumers have to do is call their bluff.

I just put a MAC dual exhaust on my car, screw bolt-on and reverse y pipe crap. I had it solid welded back, cut behind the cats to 2" then a 2.25" X on back to the mufflers, 2.5" tails. It sounds freakin AWESOME, and my mileage has spiked about 2 mpg. There's this little known law, I think it has already been posted, but i'll write it again. The vehicle manufacturer has to prove beyond a reasonable doubt that the modification you have done to the vehicle is the reason why it is malfunctioning. For example, my ABS is messing up, it would always turn on when i slowed down no matter what. I took it by before the exhaust, they were too busy. Got the exhaust put on and took it back by, they said it was void. I asked how the exhaust caused this, they said it didn't but they weren't going to fix it. I threatened with a lawsuit, even got my dad (a fairly high-powered laywer in town) to write them a letter, they fixed it the next day, NEVER HAD such a fast service time!!! LOL. Go with the duals, It will extremly help out the stang :). As for the intake, just save your factory one and put it back on before you take it in for any engine work, its not really hard to switch them out...15-30 mins max.

depends on the delaer. When my head gaskest took a dump and killed my engine, the didn't blink over the superchip and my dual exhaust. They new about the super chip cause my computer took a dump at the same time and the replaced it. the rule is if the mod cause the failure thenj the warnity is void.
