I use the NAPA 180* T-stat and have had it in there since I got my car (put it in with a new radiator) and I have had no problem. When I got the car it had no t-stat and it ran pretty hot in traffic. Real hot.

stopped by the parts store today and picked up the only Mr. Gasket thermostat they had--a universal, it seems, that was in the "performance" section. it says something like "Mr. Gasket Performance Thermostat, FORD/CHEVY/DODGE"... forgot it in the car, so i don't have a part #, but i think it's MRG-4364. anyhow, it's copper/brass and is rated at 180*.

anyone running one of these? is there a specific mr. gasket thermostat for our cars?

I think that most are universal types. You should be fine.

read up on drilling a hole in the thermostat...that way if it closes up it won't be nearly as bad.d

cool. the thermostat also checked out on summit, so i'll put it in today after work (fridays=half-day for me!).

thanks for the tip on drilling a hole--i'll definately do it.
