This was so much easier on my 92. Ok so I've gotten every other freaking bolt off the water pump except the one closest to the balancer. I figured maybe removing the crank pulley would make it accessible but its almost as if the balancer is touching the bottom of the w/p.

Does anyone have a solution or ideas as to taking of that bolt before I go rent that horrible balancer tool and enter that mess?

This one is a pretty new oem replacement from ford racing, like 10k on it. The w/p and crank pulleys are off, thats not the problem. It just that the rubber from the balancer is almost touching the bolt to the point that I'm nowhere near fitting a thin wall socket in there.

The rubbers not coming out, its brand new about 10,000 miles on it. It seems like the diameter is slightly bigger than the factory one even though its an oem spec ford racing one. Oh well, got the balancer remover tool so I'll see how that goes tommorow.

if you have a manual trans you should have no problem with the balancer tool. If you have an auto, I used a big wrench that rests on the water pump to pull the balancer of with the puller.
