Guys I have been working around cars for the past 10 years and I have a noise coming from my car that sounds like it is the alternator. Only thing is my alternator is charging fine (autometer guage) and it has been making this noise for almost a year now! Just recently though ( within the past 2 weeks) car has started to over heat and boil coolant out of the overflow reservior. Could this noise have been coming from the water pump all this time and it finally let go? Sounds just like a supercharger on the car and gets louder when you rev it. I have always had issues with headgaskets on this car since the stroker motor install 3 years ago and usually the best symptom was the coolant purging out of the overflow. But I have not even raced in a year.
