Its time for number four, O'Reilly's pumps #mtc cp4038. My receipts show #2 replaced 4/21/14 ,#3 12/26/15. Now they have a supposingly better one mtc4038h for less then a buck more.
They also have a copy of edelbrock pump for $95. But the heater hose connections are a little funky, like they need fittings and different hoses.
What is a fox owner to do? I got time its just weeping now .

Still made in China, just found first pump I bought its when O'Reilly's was Checkers 8/11/07. That lasted almost seven years, second one lasted 18 months, and third one lasted almost nine years. I daily this beast in the desert I live in here in Nevada , I'm leaning on the better one O'Reilly's has.

That sucks. I ran into the same problems when trying to find a tfi module. Its a shame true motorcraft parts can be sourced anymore.

I guess the last Motorcraft I bought in early 2013 was still made in Mexico? Zero issues but it has not been my DD for about 19 years now.

I was looking at doing a carb/Distributor on an LX for a C2 corvette... The water pump alone is $659 and that is just the start to do the distributor changeover on one.....
These SBF pumps all sound pretty darn reasonable after looking at these..

The only thing I caution people about with high amperage alternators that are not parts store available is just that. You have a problem with one and you are SOL until you get a replacement from wherever you bought it from. Get one from a national chain parts store and if it goes down on you chances are a replacement is local. I have Ford 3G 130A alternators on both cars with Mark VIII fans, car audio, ignition systems, mini starters, etc and have yet to need more power than what they can put out. Just my .02.

That's why I saved some coin on the side and bought another 200amp alternator for backup .

Removed 8 year old Murray water pump from oh oh oreilleys today, picked up a replacement and for a $6 dollar difference I got the heavy duty one.
Looking at it , its shiny, when I took the backing plate off to put silicone on gaskets I noticed the impeller has a plate on it. So I think it was worth the little extra since I got the warranty for it.
Now its just sitting over night before I tighten it up and fill it and burping begins.

Oh the joy, no leaks ,new thermostat and rad cap ok, but of course......
The flex a lite fan controller's circuit board gave up the ghost. Two connecters came off,I resodered but they aren't holding.
Ordered a new board from Summit should be here Teesday/Wednesday.

I really did not want to spend money on this old fan set up as I'm going with a contour shroud with focus motors and blades.
But as always my plans take a backseat to the big guys.
I just thank God I'm five minutes from work and don't need the fans to work to get me to work and home.
