Lol. While it's tongue in cheek it is true. Another hobby of mine is cycling. It's a strange crowd and some are obsessed with weight shavings. Nothing wrong with that, it's a hobby so whatever works. In the cycling world they refer to themselves as "weight weenies".

I have two friends that are weight weenies. They are always looking to save fractions of a gram on their bike. Both of them are about 30lbs over weight lol.

I am not hard core on the tenths of pound or ounces. My view is if I am going to replace a part or piece why not buy the lightweight item but there is a limit to how much cash I will burn thru to lose a pound..But that doesn't stop me from doing stupid stuff like Fiberglass fenders $$

These are Jase fenders .I had to cut the inner fender lip off where it would bolt to the front clip so I could bolt the fenders on the lip was so bad warped it would crack when bolted down .So I had to just cut it off and use the metal structure off of a OEM fender and rivet it on to the fiberglass structure I have not donen that yet ..I have not completely fitted them up but everything else seems reasonable as far as fit and finish ...

I get it. Have you looked into lithium ion batteries? You can probably find one in the 12-16 lb range compared to a 40-50 lb lead acid. They behave a bit different and take some getting used to. But they are light for sure.

I've used them in motorcycles before. When I got my first one I thought they shipped me an empty box. Seriously. Check out Antigravity batteries.

Oh yeah I just have not bought a battery yet but when the car is not up in the air I will drop the $$ ..I am looking now for lighter seats , wheels , hood , and misc items here and there to drop weight. But if money was no object aluminum engine block..

Another day another dollar spent on mustang parts AJE drop spindles ..They are nice & well built I know AJE is not known for hi quality...Weight 15lbs so there will be some weight savings every pound counts.. One weird thing they didn't discuss is they have a camber adjustment pin ... Now to get the parts installed

I did get one spindle in the weight savings about half pound per side compared to a Sn95 spindle ...The interesting thing is there's a company out there that's states there spindle weight and the stock fox spindles at 11.1 lbs. SN95 spindle weighs 8lbs each .I personally don't have a set of 87-93 V8 spindles to weigh .If someone has a set of 87-93 spindles laying around that they could weigh that would be awesome...I personally don't think the 87-93 spindles weigh 11.1 lbs it just doesn't look like there's enough meat there ..But if 87-93 spindles do weigh that much that would be a nice chunk of weight off the front end..

I was under the impression that the antigravity batteries are not compatible with a conventional charging system.

Today I got frustrated with fuel line fix/install and moved onto WEIGHT savings .Rear bumper brackets from rock solid did it meet rock solids claim of six pounds of weight savings NO there rear brackets do weigh 2lbs each but the rear OEM brackets don't weigh 5lbs each as they show in there photo they weighed the brackets with the install hardware ...My weight shows 4lbs for two rock solid brackets & 8.8lbs for OEM brackets minus hardware ..

More weight savings on the front bumper . Personally debated the steeda bumper bar that weighs next to nothing 3.8 lbs .But the steeda unit seems sketchy .So I went the route of just replacing the front bumper brackets sure not a huge weight savings but still weight and feels a little safer than the Steeda part . And yes I zeroed my scale out for the woodblock

OEM Front fiberglass bumper 11.8lbs
OEM front bumper brackets 5.4lbs ea
Aftermarket front bumper brackets 1.4lb ea
Steeda bumper bar 3.8lbs

More weight savings plus probably some added danger you decide.. what does the plastic tank cover weigh 5.6 lbs .I decided to cut the sections under the tank straps and that weigh .8lbs that a savings of almost 5lbs ...

My replacement fuel tank is in ..But again I had to I must weigh the parts does a OEM tank weigh more than a aftermarket unit ? I put the OEM tank cleaned & empty but with all the accessories hoses pump thrown on top 26lbs then I put the aftermarket unit from summit fully trimmed out pump hoses 22.2 lbs almost 4lbs of weight savings .So some time you get unexpected weight savings ...

The vehicle is not setup for drag racing or autocross it's just for my weekends of spirited driving .I have officially passed 500 lbs of weight removal..I have searched the darkest corner & crevices of the internet and weighed multiple items that I have removed or replaced with lighter parts . Some will tell you it's easy to remove 500lbs I will politely disagree.

I do have some more areas I can remove weight lotus front seats , wheels , misc Small items .. Clearly I could go more exotic materials carbon , chromolly , lexan Windows?? So, what do you have to do with that? Do you shave the back side until it fits?
