Any other tricks out there besides:

Removing insulation on floor boards and carpet
Power steering delete
AC delete
Smog stuff delete
EFI to carb conversion
AOD to 5 speed (hehe)
No mufflers either (double hehe)

I am going to do the tubular K-member, Aluminum drive shaft, Aluminum heads, and possibly a fiberglass hood this fall or winter. I don't want to remove the bumpers either.... So far I got almost 250 pounds removed from the beast. I imagine I can get another 100 pounds with the hood, heads, and k-member? Or will that yeild better results? I'd love to remove 400 pounds total. And what kind of gains would you see 400 pounds lighter? Is it 1/10th at the 1/4 mile for every 100 pounds or something like that?

theres a place i saw in a magazine that sells fiberglass hatches...if ur intrested ill go find it for u and post a link. i would think it would loose quite alot. Also theres always the backseat, spare tire and jack, and if ur really serious swap your windows from glass to either a lexan or plastic, but thats a lil pricy.

And for what its worth

Yes, the general rule of thumb is a decrease of 1/10th of a second for every 100 pounds you lose. Gotta love weight reduction
