I was just wondering what else i could take out of my car to make it lighter.
I've already took out the back seat (putting in a 10 point cage). I've
took out the firewall blanket, all the sound insulation, all the tar stuff off the floorpan. Im putting in lighter seats (Stock seats are boat anchors!) The rear panels, all the spare tire and jack stuff, all the panels in the trunk...Um, Any suggestions will help...just give me alist and i'll pick through the things and decide if i want to take them out or not.....Any help is greatly appreciated...im stumped at what else to take out....

i forgot i believe aftermarket wheels like weld are much lighter then stock aluminium mags. could save a bunch of rotating mass there.

Swap your iron heads for aluminum. Aluminum driveshaft.

You could also remove the smog pump and A/C if applicable. Hell go catless too.

Yea, i already have Draglites, fiberglass hood, no a/c and aluminum driveshaft. Its completely a street car that i drive all the time, so Lexan and no heater arn't really in my list. If i was racing i would have definatly aleady done all that but for the street its not worth the effort. Eventually i do want to go all race, no street. But right now its pretty much a pro-street car. the tubular K-member is in the works right now, and im moving my battery to the trunk and getting a fuel cell...not to much left to take off, at least that im willing to. Im looking for low 11's with a N/A 306, so i figured i'd need to take just about everything off. Thanks for all your replies, keep em' coming, any suggestion helps!

Oh, and if this helps you any. I have a pretty much stock short block with 11,000 miles on it. I have fully ported 71' 302 heads with 2.02 intake and 1.60 exhaust, a F303 cam, no a/c, no smog, no cats, H-pipe w/ dumps, Mac shorties, hogged out Typhoon manifold, cold air intake, aluminum rollers(1.6). Im thinking im pushing around 260-275 to the wheels, with a 3.73 gear(switching to 4.11).
Im thinking im down to around 2,900 right now without me in the car. My last trip to the 1/4 mile i ran a 12.4 on street tires on a N/A 302, how much more weight should i drop to get to 11.00-11.50
