For the past few months I have had this noise coming from the gauge cluster area. The best way to desribe it would be like the old school speedo cables going out. Kinda of a winding noise and you really here it under hard acceleration or when the motor is winding down from higher RPMs. I have no clue what it could be. It sounds like it is too loud inside the car to be ehaust leaks though.
