Weird noise

I just noticed this problem and now it is driving me nuts. Whenever I shut the car off with the heater on, I get a clicking noise (more like grinding) behind the gauge cluster or the steering wheel. It happens right after the car is shut off. It does not happen when the heat is shut ff. Any Ideas on what would cause this and advice on how to fix it?

Sounds like the hot/cool air blend door inside the dash. This is weird though.... the blend door is operated manually in the SN95 by the heat/cool knob. If the knob isn't moving, why would the door?

one thing that confuses me is that it only happens when i turn the key on and off. I dont have to turn the motor over, just give it power. And it only happens when the dial is somewhere other than off.
