I was cruising down the highway the other day at about 65 in 5th when all of a sudden my car jerked.. like the clutch engaged or something.. it just did it that once and then sort of again tonight (three days after the first incident) in 4th cruising through town. I've jiggled all the wires.. checked all the connections. It almost feels mechanical in the drivetrain.. like the clutch or something.. anyone expeirenced this? What could it be?

Sounds like it was missing. If it is bad enough it can feel very violent and seem worse then it really is.

i just went through a missing issue with my car. started with hard to start... then 3 weeks later it kept jerking in forth gear(missing) that only happened once. then a week later the car jerked on the highway at 70 in 5th gear and shut itself off. after getting home from school the car would just keep cranking and not turning over. started with the ignition coil. that wasn't it. then the igniton control module. that was not it. then the distributor. BAM that was it.

good luck

Once one of my plug wires melted a little from being to close to the header or maybe it touched at one point but it was arcing a spark off of the block from the melted wire causing my car to shake at speed. It was when I would be driving along and hit a bump and the wire would move closer to the metal and then arc. I figured it out when I went to change the plugs.
I bought a new pump and filter first b/c I thought that may have been it also before I discovered the wire. So you may want to check your filter if you haven't already.
Hope this helps.

It didn't feel quite like a miss. But I guess it could have been. I'll check my wires becuase I know some of them are a little close to the headers and the engine in some places.
94Gtstock-newclutch: When you say distributor do you mean the distributor or the cap and rotor?

I don't think it would be my coil.. I've got an MSD blaster.. do they go bad??? I'll check some things out when the weather clears up a bit.

Thanks...
