Weld Drag rims, sizes?

I have an 03 gt supercharged, went to Barona Drags today and couldnt hook up running on my street tires, fastest 1/8th mile was 8.473 getting beat by automatics with drags on. I like weld draglites but i dont know sizes, i tried doing the wheel sizer, but i dont know what will fit and what won't. If anyone has an 00-04 with draglites with specs and what needs to be done to fit them, it would be greatly appreciated, thanks. also looking for the tire sizes along with the rim sizes, thanks again, and are skinnies in the front worth it running around 400hp?

5X4.5" bolt pattern. For 15x8" wheels, use a 5.5" backspace for a tucked in look or 4.5" will be a wider stance. 15x10" use a 6.5" backspace, and you will need to remove your quad shocks most likely to fit them.

Skinnies need a 7/16"spacer to clear brakes. Less weight in the front will mean better weight transfer. If these are track only, you might as well buy drag skinny tires because they have less rolling resistance.

Post up what gears you have to know what tire size to recommend.

Forgot to mention that you will need new lugs and studs for weld wheels. Summit wheels are a cheaper alternative that use stock lugs.

Do not need new rear studs for the weld wheels and probably dont for the front. Some people run them with the spacers and stock studs. If it were me, I would put new studs in the front but they are not necessary. But you do not need them for the back with stock gt brakes Just new lug nuts

go with the 15X10, 6.5bs and a MT ET Street Radial and you'll be in for a big improvement. when my current ET street radials are gone i'm going to opt for a 15 inch drag wheel too

ask my buddy who sheared off 4 lug nuts on the back of his car running my prostars on stock studs. there were only 3-4 threads holding the wheel on. that is not enough to hold it!!

will they come back off.....yes, when you dont want them to

dont risk losing a wheel over a set of $40 studs!!

ok, im looking to buy the rims tonight, 15", 5.5" bs, 8" wide, now what are studs, what do they do and what ones do i get with these rims? im going be buying these from summit racing, thanks, kind of new to the drag racing scene, but it sure is addicting

you need the 3"studs to run the prostar rims.

Tracks will require you to run studs, they always check my cars that I have had them on. Plus, it's safer, use studs.

I agree......I fig. with the stock rear brakes you would be fine...with my cobra rear brakes I had to run a 1/4" spacer and only had 4 threads and said NO WAY and got rid of them since I didnt want to install the longer studs

If you are getting loner studs, make sure you get open ended lug nuts
