I pretty much have $5,000 to play with...Minus $300 to buy a miata to drive while i am doing the swap.

Might as well do the swap now while I have funds. I Make enough money for a college Student. Gotta love working for yourself.

I would have never had $5k to drop on a car in my 20s and if I did I would have spent it on... Hmmm to be honest probably beer weed and hookers... Just trying to help you make wise decisions. But at the end of the day they are your decisions to make. And you will be the one to live with them.

well i have 5 Grand to spend, But i do not wanna spend that much....Like i said i am gonna tray to save as much mney as possible by hunting down the best price. I am hoping to spend $4 Grand not including the Miata Purchese.

...and for the money....Lets just say that the ganja Business is treating me very well <3 Cali.

ive dumped like 10k into my car and its not even supercharged!!! thats because of my paintjob (3k) and some other bs..oh well, im young, just finished college..and dont regret one bit, just keep the $$$ flowing

I have 8k right now and I'm attending college next fall. I just ordered an alum. driveshaft and gears but I'm not spending anymore till after college. I was very close to doing a 03 cobra engine swap with my 98 GT but i didn't because i figured the money will be better spent at college. I say save the money because in college everyone knows $$$ = a good time. Maby you could do a couple little mods like mine to get you through college, if you don't care about your engine spray it for a few years and have some fun.

I do not see any point to a 4V swap. The 2V is a great engine and can be made just as good as a 4V. Also the 2V does not have the f'n head tick issue.

Try to get one with the C heads made in the year 2005 or later. Be careful you do not buy a used one that has severe head tick issues.

if the 2 valve is just as good then why did you buy a cobra?

it is gonna cost every bit of your 5k.

I just did it and got a AMAZING deal on the donor car. I spent 5k. It is gonna be extremely hard to do this with that budget unless you get luck y and have a friend like mine with a 01 4 valve swapped GT total his car and want to unload it.

It seems you're intent on getting a 4V, regardless of how much power your 2V can make. I'd say sell your car and buy a Cobra instead of the swap. It will be a LOT less work and probably cheaper as well.
