After a lot of thought and indecisiveness, I finally reached a conclusion.. I finally ordered VT Stage 2 cams and Manley Nextek valvesprings

The cams should be back in stock on May 31st, so hopefully they will be there that day!

And i've got a mechanic from my town who is going to install them. He has built race motors as long as my family has known him (over 20 years). I talked to him about modulars and he was telling me more than I knew about them  He's a genius, I swear.. I asked him how much he wanted to do the install.. the price was absolutely ludacris... Can anyone guess?.... Try $200 for the WHOLE install.. cams, valvesprings, timing it.. :D

you're gonna blow your motor :rlaugh:

jk man, its about time you ordered something. Now we can finally solve the SN 4.6 Talk debate, which is faster: Cammed and Bolt-on 2V, or Blown and Bolt-on 2V. :winkwinknudgenudge: Come Fall that is :nice:

Now start saving for LT's and a dyno tune.

I'll be ordering my XCal next week from MPH and then the next week i'll have all the money I need for install and dyno tune :)

But no LT's for me, not this time anyways. I need to save the rest of the summer for next semester's expenses.. such as deposit, rent, furniture, etc.. Take care of some stuff I NEED before I do anymore mods (except for maybe gears)

Dynospeed shot me a great price.. $200 for tune, $0 for dyno time :)

thats a great price... sounds like you will be cammed soon!!

I hope so.. He said as soon as I get my stuff and there is a spot open in his shop, it'll be my turn :D.. He said it'll probably be 2-3 weeks, but I don't mind the wait. As long as I know it'll be a good job and a great price (I got a hook-up deal lol), then I won't mind a few weeks wait.. But i'll be antsy as chit tho! I trust the chit outta this guy, I may even have him do more stuff to my car, since he knows how to port/polish heads and the such :)

Only tool i'll need to bring is the Ford Fuel-line tool, he said he never really keeps one in his shop at his house... But i'm sure I can get one for not-too expensive.

The other guy who was going to install them wanted twice what he makes at the Ford Stealership, I told him I wouldn't pay him anymore than he makes there.

Missed your call earlier, phone was on silent cuz I went to the movies around 5. I can make a guess why you called.

$200 sounds good for a dyno tune. Hopefully they can load you a tune for that E85 ****, its already here.

I was gonna order the rims today but I realized Im over halfway to a Mongoose kit, so F'k it, my car can look ugly for a bit longer, the 350+hp will make up for it. Rims will be my X-mas present to myself.

Who's doing the install?

AWSOME JASON! Wow, glad you finally did it! Have fun with them and you will love em. Awsome price too....thats a sick deal!

And why does he need a fuelline tool? Removing any of the fuel line ist required as far as I know.

Bill Annett. I'm not too sure if he's very big elsewhere, but down here around Russellville he is somewhat, he's got his own racing thing.. B.A.R.E.

I honestly don't think your rims are ugly ... But that blower will make up for anything missed on the outside.. u bastage

But thanks for the reminder about the ghey E85 crap, i'll make sure I get one of those tunes as well :D.. If you don't work the day I go up there, maybe you could go with me? If you wanted... that way you could check it out when I do

Well, I just saw that on the Modular Depot write-up, but wasn't too sure. I read him off the whole list of tools/supplies needed

I'm also thinking about replacing the valve seals while i'm in there, along with the spark plugs since i've got 67k miles... You think I should?

If its a weekday I wont be able to, Ive gotta work every day from 3-9 for the rest of my life. Im trying to get off for the Rob Zombie concert for Edgefest but I dont think they're gonna let me do that. I'd love to hit up Dynospeed though.

Where'd you buy the Manley springs from? I never saw them at any on-line store. Ive got the money now for cams, springs and LT's, but I really want that blower whine

I got the springs from vtengines.com/store

If I had the opportunity, I would've rather gone with a blower... but beggers can't be choosers :)

Come on Helt.. Blow that bish! That'd be SICK  :hail2:

Oh yeah, the only day I could go would be on a saturday due to work.. 8-5:30 everyday (usually don't get out of there til 7 tho).. SO i'd have to go on a saturday :)

hey theres a Mustang car show at that museum tomorrow, ricky bish is heading up that way. I may go out of boredom, probably get some pics of some classics. Its from 11-3.

Trust me, if I had ALL the money I needed, the car would be blown already. FedEx owes me some money anyway, so we'll see. Maybe by the end of the summer I'll order it. If not, selling drugs to kids will pick up big time when school starts back up in September, then I'll skip the Novi and go right to a Turbo :nice:

Let me know ahead of time when you schedule the dyno session and I'll go. I want to check out their facilities and talk about install prices for the blower. I trust myself with most of it, but its the fuel pump, injectors and plugs I dont wanna F'k up, so I'll let someone else do it. I wonder if the 1/4 out there is open to the public on Saturdays? I think its only Thursdays.....

Yepp... I'll be there around 12 or so. Carolyn's been keeping me updated on it, but that's what I called you about earlier this evening, since you're back in town. To tell you to come out or else Bullitt gets taken hostage

:D

Selling drugs to kids isn't so bad as long as it results in car parts.. I'm sure they could use a lesson in life :D :rlaugh: :rlaugh: :jester:

You will not be dissappointed. You will be in desperate need of a tune after though. My car ran like crap after the install, barely started and always stalled. Computer finally smartened up a little and let the car run enough for me to do the 3 hour drive to get my dyno tune. Go luck and great price, you're gonna love em!
