Got to go sign the paperwork today, so in 90 days I will be a single person again.
So I say a sad goodbye to the 84 SVO, but hey, I am gaining a garage space back for one of my other cars.

It was "our" SVO, But the intent was that is was hers ( I was going to buy it, then she did before me) and I have put ALOT of work ( and the damn thing tried to take my thumb ) into it, But it is hers.
Out of it I keep:
03 Matrix, My Car trailer, 85 SVO, the Cobra, 87 LX, 64.5, and my 66.
She is taking the Mountaineer, so I will be down a tow vehicle.
We are doing Split Joint Custody of Jillian, and She will be paying me Child support.
As for everything else it will all even out as far as possesions.
Now I am looking at buying a house and building a big garage right away.

Thanks for the support.

Nobody wins in things like this. Monetary crap can be replaced, a Childs security and idea of "home" can't.

I went through this and my daughter suffers not having her dad around. I try to visit as much as I can, but life took me 2500 miles away after the split. I have no parental rights by Alberta law except to pay. My X also did the lawyer behind the back thing, even changed my daughters last name without my consent... As far as I read the law, that was not supposed to be permitted unless abandonment was declared; it voids her claim to support (I would never not pay) But they don't go after the woman for bending the law when it comes to children, just the men… and if anything ever happened to my X I’d still have no rights where my daughter was concerned.

My heart goes out to you SVO1. Be strong for that little girl. I wish I would have had even a 1% chance of fighting for joint custody. It would have changed the course of my life.

OMG you two are depessing the hell out of me
( please don't think I'm saying that to be a PITA)

Just when I thought Canada was a great place to live you go and drop that on me The one thing that bugs the hell out of me is how people use there kids to get back at the ones there up set with. WTF is up with that crap. I would never do that to my wife and I almost did leave her due to her drinking problems. I in no way want that crap around my son but I would never keep her from him that is just plain sick. Is it the kids fault there parents don't get along with each other anymore? Hell No its not so why does one parent think when they leave they need to keep the kids from mom/dad ? What kind of sick twisted crap is that. I can understand that sometimes its for the best intrest of the kid if one of the parents is abusing the child or something that is totaly uncalled for but other than that both parents should remain in the childs life forever !

I really take my hat off to you two and the others that are going through this.

Not sure if the same laws apply in Alberta as in BC but here my bro inlaw had to SIGN his kid away before she able to leave the country or change it's name. Far as I know unless you signed she could not have done what she did behind your back. If that is the case, I'd go and get some legal advice and undo it.

Not to split hairs here but if I chose to remain in my kids life, I'm pretty sure the courts could not deny that unless I was a threat to them.

All I can say is I feel for you. But, never let her off the hook on child support. She would grill you if you had to pay.

That's a hard thing to go through, my parents split when close to 11 years ago and I STILL miss my daddy terribly sometimes. Even though my parents are still on good terms and I see my dad alot, I still wish I had a slightly more normal family sometimes. All I can tell you (and I know you already know this) is put Jillian first and act in her best interest at all times. It's so tough for a little gal to see that happening and not question her parents' love for her. It seems like you have everything figured out for the most part so you can avoid some of the confusion and mix-ups that come along with something like this. My heart goes out to you, hopefully it goes smoothly and it works out OK.

Thanks again for the kind words/thoughts/support.

Garrett- Not 100% on it. Probably will be doing more stuff on the side now cause I will need the extra $$.
So this may actually push up the timeframe, but it will still have to stay on the side untill it gets big enough that I can Leave Toyota.
Taryn- Jillian is all that matters to me. If I have to sell off all the cars and drive a yugo and chop my legs off Just to keep Jillian in a good place I would not hesitate to do so.

I think the Hardest part for me will not be tucking her in every night. We have this dumb little laugh thing we do every night, and when I am late from work she waits up in bed till I can do it.
- Just thinking about it makes me a tad bit teery ( and anyone that knows me knows that I do not cry for anything)

Well...that's no real biggie anyway. I still have another 2 years to go in school.

Anyway sorry to hear all that man. My parents split up a few years ago, it was pretty hard even though I was 19 at the time. I figure on a youngster like her it's gotta be rough...
