A 66GTO is a looong big full frame car. Big block, don't know many details except the motor dynoed at 750TQ on the engine dyno when he had it built. I didn't want to take a pic of the car, because while I have known him for years, I didn't feel comfortable taking a pic.

The car has a 65 gallon fuel cell in the trunk!!!!! Race gas, Michelin tires, and man does it run!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

He mashed the gas 1st, 2nd, 100MPH, then going into the corner where most slow down, he grabs 3rd and rips around the bend. Then slow instantaneoulsy to 50MPH!!!! MY head was on the dash pretty much.

He had a G Tech pro and we went corner carving....1.04 G's around a couple corners, and .98 G's around a couple more.

Last trip to the track, where he said he spun til the 1/8th...12.40's @ 129MPH!!!

The car is a monster!

64-65-66 were lite, after that they became luxury, which added weight! 65's and 69's are my favorite. I had a 65 Lemans, same car but came w/ a 326.
The bad thing about those years (1964-65-66) is if you had a automatic they only had a 2 speed power glide.

That's cool man. I love the car. I haven't seen it since last summer. He just came back up here to give me the G-tech manual that he let me borrow. (That's how I knew how many G's it laid down.) So I will play with Hack Job tonight.

I asked him the horse again...740HP on the engine dyno. I asked him the cubes too....he said "a lot".

Now do you guys see why I didn't take a picture. I didn't get many answers to my questions, but I respect that.

Also, he has 4 mufflers on it to keep it quiet, and it's still loud as hell.

Why id he so secretive about it? I don't think I've ever met someone (who's not trying to compete with you) that doesn't want to tell you everything about their car. Then again, I'm not very educated in this kind of thing.

BTW, I love those cars

Well, he has put work into this car, and changes thing all the time, over the past 3 years. Everything is trick on this car, everything. The body and paint was done by himself. As nice as the paint looks, I would drive the car if it had a 4cylinder in it!!

Yep, 4. He told me, I was like WHHAT??? I looked under there, sure enough...4. With L/T's, all 3 or 3-1/2" exhaust. He used to have dumps, but he was tired of the fust getting thrown on the trunk and roof, so he put tails on it.

740 hp!!!! Is that NA? Must be some big block...500+ c.i.

1 lateral G!!!! That is some serious suspension mods. I'm jealous. I've been in a 500 rwhp 03 Cobra. That was insane enough. I couldn't imagine a 700 hp 66 GTO.

Mang thats nuts. My pops termi has seen 1.04 with me driving but thats IRS, and a slew of suspension mods. That GTO must be built like a brick chit house

+1 on the Judge. I like all GTOs (except the return) but the Judge always stuck out as a car I always wanted

N/A!! Yeah, it's a huge motor. Put it this way, a few years ago, he took out his 454 motor because it wasn't big enough. So I now it's bigger than that. It's gotta be a 502+ I'm guessing. Yeah, the suspension on the car is insane. I remember he showed me these QA1 shocks he got. They were adjustable for the compression and rebound. Something like this:
QA1 Precision Products DTC1958P - QA1 Stocker Star AL Shocks - summitracing.com

He was really geeked about them. This car was like no other car I have been in. It's such a sleeper too. 17X8's all around with 255's. No slicks and skinnies look. 2.73 gear too, so it hauls serious butt on the freeway. It was sick outta the hole too, so he's got some serious work done under the hood.

Yes, 65 gallons. He wouldn't pop the hood, but he popped the trunk...haha.

My eyes went like this.... I'm like. "What is that?"

He's like it's a fuel cell

I'm like, I know that, but how big?

65 gallons.

65 gallons of fuel, 2.73 gear, 740HP, do you run from the cops often??

*smiles*

I laugh.

He said he doesn't fill it anymore, but used to. His mixture is half race gas, half premium.

Let's play a game:

32.5 gallons at 6.58 a gallon, and 32.5 gallons at 4.39 a gallon = 356.53 to fill it up!!!! OMG!!

Holy #$%*!!!!! I looked right over that. 65 gallons. Is that a typo?!?! My god, did he do that for traction.

129 mph in 1/4 with 2.73 gears. That car in all seriousness probably has a top speed north of 180+.

How could you not take pictures of a car that bad....did you at least ask him.

Not a typo, I must have posted my last post .0045 seconds before you...haha.

I didn't ask him, because when he declined popping the hood, I figured I better not. It only took me about 8 years to get a ride in the car, so maybe in another 8 years, I'll get to see under the hood!!...haha...

Just ribbing you a little....sounds like he wasn't too anxious to show you much about the car.

That is one crazy setup. 700+ hp motor, 2.73's, 65 gal fuel cell. It does make you wonder about the purpose of the car......Cannonball Run....haha.
