Well, I failed today. I went to the bone yard in search of an electric fan for my car. I found a cougar with the same radiator at the yard that was already removed. I walked around with it so I could match them up. I finally found a fan in a 89 Taurus 3.8 ltr that fit, almost perfectly! I got it for $20 bucks, brought it home. Also found a trunk light for a 67-68 cougar.

Anyway, the fan is 2 speed, it would be easy to install electrically. I pulled the fan/shroud out of my car and started putting it in and it is too wide. So I got out the dremmel and hacked off about 3/4 inch off the shroud, it fit, but now I can't mount it because I cut off the mounting tabs. Well anyway I just thought I’d let you guys know how my day want.

if I do get it to work, I’ll take pics.

Just fab up some brackets, or use some of those zip tie type radiator straps 10secgoal mentioned (their used for mounting tranny coolers and electric fans directly to the radiator).

BTW, if you haven't already, you might start thinking about upgrading your alternator. Those Taurus fans can eat up like 20 amps in high mode.
