I'm quite disapointed by the numbers.

96 Mustang GT Vert' 3844# with me in it.
211.7 HP @ 4900
265.9 TQ @ 3700

I know races arent won at the dyno, I just thought the car had more for what I have on it. I have done fenderwell CAI, 80mm C&L MAF, 70mm TB, PP intake plenum, PI intake manifold, longtube headers, X-pipe w/o cats, and flowmaster cat-back, and MSD ignition and coils, and tuned with an XCAL@2.
Also of note but wont help power 4.10 gears and full suspension. Now my car just dosent seem very fast. Granted it does feel a little stronger than when I first bought it. I loose a lot of races which sucks but, I can beat my friends 2002 mustang and a few fox bodied 5.0's if they are stock. Honestly I'm disapointed with the straight line performance of this car considering my other car( an 82 coupe) and previous stang's I've owned.
Are these numbers about average for my car? It's got about 109,000 miles on it and it does smoke a little starting up and during heavy excelleration. And why are the peak power points at such a low RPM?

Comments?

Im kinda in the same boat. I put down 251 rwhp and 276 rwtq:notnice: I really thought my torque would have been higher. Im kinda thinking that my car needs a new bottom end (because of the miles).

BTW PI heads and cams will really wake that thing up. I need LTs

Holy crap!!!! That's a lot of weight! 3844 with you in it? How much do '96 verts weigh? I know my '03 vert has a curb weight of 3429, unless you weigh 415 those older verts are heavy as hell!
211.7 hp seems a little low, I'd think you'd be pushing at least 240rwhp, or about the same as my '03 before I got blown. You had to add at least 30-40 hp with all those boltons.

Sorry, those numbers sound just about right to me - especially if it's an auto. Would help us if you can tell us it's an auto and the type of dyno i.e. mustang dyno, which reads low compared to dynojet.

Stock 96s-97s with 5sp. typically put down ~180 rwhp.

Adding up your mods (optimistically) for a total of 45rwhp would bring the ttl to approx. 225rwhp. If your stang is auto or on a mustang dyno take off about 10rwhp for a ttl of ~215rwhp, which is right near what you posted. Now, forget all that number stuff and take out the subs and hit the track!

My ricer math:
Intake stuff ~5rwhp
LTs and X pipe ~20rwhp
tune (with timing advance) ~10rwhp
PI intake~10rwhp (only 7 for me)
subttl 45rwhp

The place I went to used a Dyno jet. My car has a 5 speed stick tranny. Honestly I couldnt really justify lying down money for a new forged shortblock right now. I will eventually when the current motor craps out on me. PI heads and some aftermarket cams will be finding a new home under my hood soon for sure. Especially since I have bad valve seals. Ultamatly my goal is a 13 second car. Hopefuly cams and a PI head swap can get me there.

Yea when i bought my 96 i thought it was slow as piss..:bang: my buddies 95 5.0 was not just faster but ALOT faster. Granted we never took our cars to the track while we were stock but in our little heads up race he would KILL me.. it was embarrssing lol..
But i did the PI heads and other stuff you can read in my sig. and i went to the track last year (with a few mods less) and ran a 13.98 @ 99mph with a 2.2 60' (ok dont make fun of me cuz i cant launch my car, but i still have street tires :nono: )

So i would tell you, that getting into the 13's is easy. Or just get a 50-100shot of NOS. Then you will get a little easier.. or at least what i think.. :nice:
